What to Bring to your shift
We work in the fields rain or shine so you are encouraged to dress for the weather.
At the start of the season the ground will likely be muddy, so we encourage you to wear boots, bring garden gloves and dress in layers. We also encourage participants to wear a hat, bring water, sunscreen, bug spray and snacks for yourself throughout the season.
The first crops will be ready for harvesting in the early weeks of June. Since we harvest our own veggie boxes each week, participants will be asked to bring their own large boxes/bags to put your harvest in, 5 empty, clean 750 ml yogurt containers, 5 freezer sized ziploc bags, and 10 (or more) elastics. We will reuse these items throughout the season so you are asked to bring them back each week. If you can bring extras, we will store them at the Community Farm area in the barn in case anyone forgets. Feel free to start collecting these items now so you’ll have them for our first harvest week in June.
